Release, player count, Steam, controllers, modes and the renaming from PROXXY: the key answers at a glance.

What is SO CLOSE?

How many players does SO CLOSE support?

Can you play SO CLOSE solo?

Yes. SO CLOSE can be played solo, but it is designed for co-op — the collar mechanic only unfolds in a team.

Is SO CLOSE online co-op or splitscreen?

SO CLOSE is online co-op. One player hosts, the others join. Splitscreen is not planned.

Which platforms will SO CLOSE be on?

Who is PROXXY?

Was SO CLOSE previously called PROXXY?

Yes. The game was renamed to SO CLOSE before release. PROXXY stays as the game master — the name belongs to the character now, not the game. Steam App ID and team are unchanged.

Who develops and publishes SO CLOSE?

SO CLOSE is developed by Applaunch and published by KMGGames — a game studio from Bochum, Germany, and a brand of KMG Vertriebs GmbH. SO CLOSE is the label’s first title.

What games is SO CLOSE similar to?

SO CLOSE combines elements of Chained Together and Level Devil: forced co-op through the collar, unfair and unpredictable traps, and speedrun repetition.

What is the difference between Realism and Easy?

Realism restarts from zero after every death and is built for streams. Easy resumes at the last checkpoint and is meant for learning the route.

Is SO CLOSE available in English?

Yes. SO CLOSE launches in English and German.
