Trailer
A first look at the chaos. Four players, one collar, zero room for error.
The DNA
SO CLOSE fuses four things that don't usually belong together — and that's exactly what makes it so mean.
Looks easy. Isn't. The level seems harmless — which is exactly why it'll make you scream.
One dies, everyone dies. Back to the start. Work together — or blame each other.
Traps you never see coming. The level plays against you. No warning, no mercy.
Memorize every trap, perfect the route, chase the best time. Precision beats speed.
The mechanic
Every player wears a collar. Drift too far apart and it detonates — taking the whole team with it. There's only one way forward: shoulder to shoulder, in lockstep, every move in sync.
Distance critical — detonation in 3…Game loop
Host or join, 1–4 players. Then decide how merciless the show gets.
From zero. Every time.
No checkpoints. When the team dies, everything restarts from zero. Pure ragebait — built for clips, streams and broken keyboards.
From last checkpoint
Respawn at your last checkpoint. Learn the traps step by step without starting over every single time.
Your game master
“Aww, look at you trying so hard. How adorable. Let's see how long that lasts.”
PROXXY — the game master in the bird mask — guides you through the entire world of SO CLOSE. He watches every mistake, narrates every death and feeds the audience your suffering. The more you suffer, the higher the rating.
The rooms
Linear rooms, simple rules, lethal details. Every room has exactly one solution — and a thousand ways to kill you.

The studio
SO CLOSE is made at KMGGames — a new PC game label from Bochum. We’re deliberately releasing our first title through the existing infrastructure of KMG Vertriebs GmbH: for financing, contracts and a clean launch. After the first release, the studio will be spun off as its own company.
“Deliver first. Then scale.”
More about KMGGamesContracts, accounting and Steam backend set up cleanly — from day one.
Own IP, own mechanics, a clean rights chain. Built for players — not just the audience.
After the first proof of market, the studio becomes its own company.

In short
SO CLOSE is a co-op ragebait speedrun for 1–4 players on PC. You escape a linear level full of unpredictable traps together. A collar keeps you close: move too far apart and it explodes, killing everyone. If one player dies, everyone restarts from the beginning.

PROXXY is the game master of SO CLOSE: the character in the bird mask who hosts the deadly game show and guides you through the entire world of SO CLOSE — commenting on every mistake you make.
Yes. The game was renamed to SO CLOSE before release. PROXXY stays in the game as the game master — the name now belongs to the character in the bird mask, not to the game.
SO CLOSE is developed by Applaunch and published by KMGGames — a game studio from Bochum, Germany, and a brand of KMG Vertriebs GmbH. SO CLOSE is the label's first title.
SO CLOSE combines elements of Chained Together and Level Devil: forced co-op through the collar, unfair and unpredictable traps, and speedrun repetition. The level looks easy but is deliberately brutal.
